In 1958, our visionary founder established XiangShan Rattan Ltd. in Tainan, Taiwan, laying the foundation for a legacy of excellence in rattan craftsmanship. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of our commitment to creating high-quality, handcrafted furniture, setting the stage for global recognition.
In 1989, XiangShan Rattan Ltd. entered a strategic joint venture with Japanese firm Kimura Co. to establish Gunung Meganusa Perkasa PT. in Tangerang, Indonesia. Specializing in OEM rattan manufacturing, GMP quickly became a trusted supplier, exporting premium furniture to major retailers across Japan, Europe, and beyond, cementing our reputation for quality and reliability.
By 1999, GMP expanded its expertise with the introduction of a teak product line, capitalizing on Indonesia’s rich natural resources. Initially importing board materials, we soon transitioned to processing our own logs on-site, enhancing control over quality and sustainability. This milestone solidified our position as a leader in teak furniture production.
Today, under the leadership of renowned designer Mr. Chu, our in-house design team drives innovation in teak and rattan furniture. Offering both OEM and ODM services, GMP delivers fully customizable solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.
